    I was sued by the Capital One bank for a credit card debt I never own. This is the first time I got sued and panicked about it.     During the process, William talked with me about the procedure, gave instructions, and answered every question in detail. Other staff also responded quickly and guided me through this very long (almost 2 years) process. Truly grateful for your expertise and professional support!

    The case was concluded with [DISMISSAL WITH PREJUDICE]. Means the Capital One bank did not get a single penny and can never bother me with it again.

    On occasion, I am thinking about the potential outcomes of rejecting the dismissal and proceeding to trial. Then I would like to ask the judge if a dismissal was an appropriate justice for any random person who is unfortunately impacted by the Capital One bank's "not perfect" credit default system.

    Additionally, I wonder how many people have accepted settlements from the Capital One bank, not because of owing a debt, but to save money and time.

In reality the timing may have been best as I had that small life insurance policy to utilize for this situation.     I'm so sorry Stanley was ill that Thursday and Friday and couldn't get back to me, because it was then that I called my nephew's lawyer who, that same day, negotiated the $16,000 down to $12,800 (I hadn't heard back from Stanley at that point, not knowing that he was sick, otherwise I would have hired you!). I wasn't very happy about that amount, but the attorneys Hunt and Henriques wouldn't lower it for a lump sum either! They gave us until last Wednesday (the 15th) to accept the offer, although I've received no papers to sign yet.

    The most frustrating thing is that the Statute of Limitations ran out a week after the collection attorneys found the judgement in Florida. They found it 5/13/2011 and refiled it in CA 5/6/2021!

    I wish that the amount I have to pay is lower. I believe had I gone with you, you, being experienced in this field, would have done better. However, I appreciated talking with you so much. Thank you for the good experience.

Apart from enjoying a superb reputation as expert "Debt Settlement" negotiators, the Firm and the Founders had also come to enjoy an outstanding reputation as "Debt Litigation" experts. It was exactly the sort of expertise I needed and I promptly signed-up with the Firm. I needed the Firm to represent me after my own Pro-Se efforts to negotiate with one of the country's largest Commercial Banks had failed to yield any meaningful result.


    Immediately after I retained Fitzgerald & Campbell, the Firm went to war with a flurry of filings, motions, pleadings and hearings. It was a whirlwind of activity and a series of wins that immediately put the Bank on its heels. The Bank lost every motion to Fitzgerald & Campbell and were forced to accept certain RFAs that they'd previously tried to have the Court set aside. You don't have to. With the generous payment Terms Fitzgerald & Campbell gives you, there is no excuse not to retain such a high quality firm, and (ii) Don’t let the odd negative comment you may occasionally see on these review boards influence you. I’ve read some of the negative comments here and they truly seem petty. Focus on the big picture. And the big picture is simple. This Firm will help you put your life back together far faster and far better than you can on your own. Everything else is just white noise. It's petty people turning minor irritants into sweeping indictments. A wiser course of action would be to retain the Firm and just let it do its job. Trust me, it's a Firm that knows its job and does its job as well as any top notch can be expected to do! They just get it done.

    Folks, give them a chance to fix things, as I did, and you’ll be immensely better-off for the decision. There are very few high-quality Debtor-Relief Firms out there, and Fitzgerald & Campbell is, in my judgement, among the very top of that very select few. Do yourselves a favor and give them a shot. You'll be truly better-off for it. The "Goliaths" of the Financial world are not going to show you an ounce of mercy or a scintilla of clemency until you have a “David” on your side. Fitzgerald & Campbell is that legendary Goliath-slaying “David.” Give them a shot. I’m glad I did. It is, by far, THE BEST DECISION I made. Thank you Mr. Fitzgerald and Mr. Campbell.     *Update to my 3/2022 review* I just emailed Yelp to see if it was possible to give a company 6 stars. They said no, but writing a glowing 5-star review would suffice. So here we are... I'm a medical doctor, in residency, living in one of the most expensive cities in the country. Over a decade ago as an undergraduate, I tried to be as frugal as possible, worked a part-time job while studying, and counted every penny. Still, I needed to take out loans to help pay tuition. One particularly nefarious private loan for $16,000 had an interest rate somewhere just shy of a 'katrillion' dollars. Although I had repaid far more than the original $16,000 to the loan company over the years, due to the magic of compounding and our predatory student loan system, they claimed I still owed them ~$40,000. Over the years I kept in constant contact with that company and sought to revise my monthly payment amount on numerous occasions in order to pay the debt down more aggressively. Despite my best efforts, the principal kept rising and the Decepticon-like interest rates kept transforming. One particularly challenging 90-hour work week things came to a head. I was working in the ICU taking care of dying Covid patients and the student loan company (whose name rhymes with Navient) continued to hammer-call me about my loan payments. The stress of trying to help dying patients while dealing with this unreasonable debt became far too much. So I reached out to Fitzgerald & Campbell for a little financial healing. From the beginning to the end of the process, they were absolutely AMAZING! My case representatives, Monica & Theresa, were wonderful. Very attentive, responsive, and reassuring. As soon as I signed on with them the calls from Navient stopped almost immediately and I could rest easy knowing that Fitzgerald & Campbell had my back. When I would get anxious about how things were going, Monica would very calmly walk me through the process once again which allowed me to settle my nerves, focus my mind, relax my heart, and care for my patients. I was also able to speak directly with one of the partners, Gregory Fitzgerald about my case. Mr. Fitzgerald was gracious with his time, personable, and had a really good sense of humor, which actually helped to lighten what was already a rather stressful situation. Ultimately the firm was able to settle the $40,000 debt for $11,000!!! That's nearly $30,000 of my life I got back. But when I contracted Fitzgerald & Campbell, I was thoroughly advised by Luz Rodriguez of all my legal options and what the firm can do for me for free. After the call, I felt less stressed and confident about hiring Fitzgerald & Campbell to represent me in my collection lawsuit.     I thought I could fight a debt collector by myself when they took me to court for $8000.00. My goal was to get them in discovery but I missed a crucial step. The judge recommended I hire a lawyer for the next court date. I paid another law firm $2500.00 to represent me in court only for the judge to rule against me as soon as we got to court. We offered to settle but the debt collector wanted over 50%. With filing fees and my new attorney fees, It was close to the original judgement. I decided to sit on this contemplating bankruptcy since times were tough and had little money. Two years went by when they came after me again with a bank levy and new interest charges totaling close to $11,000. Lucky for me, I'm self employed and bank account was under another entity. I retained a San Diego attorney that specialized in debt collections, but he sat on it for another two years. For years I was unable to get a personal checking account due to levy threats. I decided to call the attorney only to find out he was disbarred and no longer practicing. I finally hired Fitzgerald & Campbell. Nayeli Ceja took over my case and went to work.     I applied for a refinance on my house, only to discover there was a lien on it from 10 years previous that was supposed to have been removed by a bankruptcy but was not. My personal research informed me that they were a good firm with a good track record. I needed the Firm to represent me after my own Pro-Se efforts to negotiate with one of the country’s largest Commercial Banks had failed to yield any meaningful result. I was quite certain that in addition to an expert “Debt Settlement” Firm, I also needed an experienced “Debt Litigation” Firm. Fortunately, both of these needs were met in Fitzgerald & Campbell. Immediately after retaining them, the Firm went to war with a flurry of filings, motions, pleadings and hearings. It was a whirlwind of activity and a series of wins that immediately set the Bank on its heels. They lost every motion to Fitzgerald & Campbell and were forced to accept certain RFAs that they’d previously tried to have the Court set aside.     I was served a summon for a court appearance for a debt I owed on a credit card. I was not sure what to do and knew I was not going to do well in court if I did this on my own. After a bit of research I found Fitzgerald & Campbell, they had good reviews and seemed trust worthy because of this. I called for a free initial review of my situation. After this I discussed the fees and they were reasonable, I went ahead and hired them to represent me in my case. Not more than a month past and I was given another case that I did not even know about which had already been through judgement and I was on the hook to pay it all to a collections agency. I was never told about this second case and felt I should not pay because I was never served. Now I have two cases pending against me. I went back to Fitzgerald & Campbell and let them know about the second case. We worked out a lower fee to represent me because I was already a client.

    My legal rep kicked ass and she was able to get both cases reduced to an amount that I could afford to pay. Literally got my amount owed reduced by less than 10% of the overall total amount I owed to both collection agencies. I’m not sure what I would have done had I not found Fitzgerald & Campbell. I would recommend them to anyone who have a debt to settle and does not want to tackle these scandalous collection agencies on your own.     Like so many others who owe private student loans, I felt for years as if I was “renting” my career as 1/3rd of my paycheck was being used to pay the high monthly amount due to Navient with no relief in site.     My situation: The case of personal guarantor on business contract (agreement).

    When I found myself involved in a legal matter, it was already too late to negotiate it by myself. Opposing counsel was filed the case against me without any appropriate time given. I didn’t know the full details of my case until I received the document from the court.

    I was involved in the agreement as a personal guarantor and had to pay the $17K advertisement fees on behalf of the advertisement contractor which was my previous manager. This was a total mess.

    I can’t recommend these guys enough… I had done a ton of research online trying to figure out a way out of this and kept coming across the name Fitzgerald & Campbell. Since the judgment was almost 8 years old we had no legal recourse… I called F&C and from that moment everything changed. The threatening letters and phone calls stopped immediately! My contacts at F&C were Greg and my Case Manager Dyana. Although I had a contact with other lawyers and paralegal in the firm that were all great to deal with and very helpful. F&C was able to work out a settlement with N&K that saved us $13k from the original judgment! They worked on a small retainer (couple hundred bucks) and $30 per month. We would pay nothing if they couldn’t save us anything. We would only pay a small percentage on what they saved us. Suffice to say they were motivated to get us the best settlement possible.     This is my second time using Greg Fitzgerald. I had a debt issue with Portfolio Recovery Associates (Sears) about $ 1134.00 in credit card debt. Greg and his legal assistant Sam Foster worked on getting a settlement resolved. Both and Greg and Sam had got right on the matter. I was in good hands. I had a question about being served (Saturday), Greg responded to his email on a Saturday to follow up with me on upcoming Monday. Not too many lawyers follow up until the next business day.     I had $15,000 in student loans. I went into default because I lost my job, I got divorced and eventually lost my home. Years later I wanted to settle it and get it over with and done. I had to pay them $45,000, and it still makes me physically ill to think about it. I understand that people default on their loans is a problem for them. But to charge them 300% should be grotesquely illegal. Please help people to not get so badly screwed like I did.     If I could give them six stars I would. I had a financial thorn in my side for the past twelve years. I tried a number of times but wasn’t able to find an attorney willing to help me with it.

    Greg’s approach to helping debtors who have the misfortune of being sued by debt collectors and bottom-feeding debt buyers is excellent and helpful. Instead of asking for his entire fee upfront for defending you against debt collection suits, he asks for a $500 down payment and $50 per month fee until a case is settled or dismissed. His contingency is 30% of the amount saved by his work, less whatever you have paid up to that point.

    This saved me almost $20,000 from what could have been a $27,000+ burden, plus annual interest of 10%, with a net savings of nearly 60% when both the settlement to make the debt buyer go away and his firm’s fees are included. During the entire process, Greg and his staff kept me completely informed when things were filed in court, responses were received from the other side, and solid advice on strategy and negotiating the settlement with the debt buyer.     I had a unique situation wherein I am being sued by a major bank on credit card debt, and later the bank sold off the debt and the assigned creditor had subsequently filed suit against me. After the suit had been filed the original creditor/bank had submitted to me a 1099-C “Forgiveness of Debt”.
