She also availed herself of the opportunity to serve as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, and the Office of the Chief Counsel for Import Administration. Because of her work there, she was recruited to research and write brief preparation for the Federal Court of Appeals.
While earning her Juris Doctorate and gaining valuable experience while working in these various federal offices, Ms. McNulty also served as Editor-in-Chief of Judicial Notice, the Catholic University law school newspaper, served as a Justice on Catholic University’s Board of Appeals of the Student Judiciary, was Co-Chair of the Women’s Law Caucus, was President of the University of California, Irvine Alumni Chapter, and served in many other student organizations. Ms. McNulty returned home to California and began practicing law in 1993. Her successful private practice emphasized the knowledge she had gained from both her years of education and employment. Ms. McNulty serviced California state, national, and international clients in cases related to real estate, business, and family formation. As a part of her practice, Ms. McNulty conducted successful persuasive court arguments, negotiated and drafted contracts and was engaged at many professional events as a public speaker.
