Tamara McNulty is a native Californian. From a young age, she worked in the real estate industry where she became familiar with the legality of contracts.  While continuing to work in real estate, she attended University of California, Davis and subsequently the University of California, Irvine, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After earning her Bachelor’s degree, Ms. McNulty attended The Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. While living in our nation’s capital, she interned and then was employed at the U.S. Supreme Court. She conducted legal research and drafting while she was in the Chambers of Chief Justice Rehnquist, Associate Justice Stevens, and the Office of the Clerk.  She also availed herself of the opportunity to serve as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, and the Office of the Chief Counsel for Import Administration.  Because of her work there, she was recruited to research and write brief preparation for the Federal Court of Appeals.

While earning her Juris Doctorate and gaining valuable experience while working in these various federal offices, Ms. McNulty also served as Editor-in-Chief of Judicial Notice, the Catholic University law school newspaper, served as a Justice on Catholic University’s Board of Appeals of the Student Judiciary, was Co-Chair of the Women’s Law Caucus, was President of the University of California, Irvine Alumni Chapter, and served in many other student organizations.  Upon graduation, she received the Dean’s Award, the Catholic University of America Extra Mile Award, and was named Outstanding Law Graduate of Catholic University by the National Association of Women Lawyers.

Ms. McNulty returned home to California and began practicing law in 1993.  Her successful private practice emphasized the knowledge she had gained from both her years of education and employment.  Ms. McNulty serviced California state, national, and international clients in cases related to real estate, business, and family formation. As a part of her practice, Ms. McNulty conducted successful persuasive court arguments, negotiated and drafted contracts and was engaged at many professional events as a public speaker. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at a Southern California law school, teaching legal writing and public speaking.  Currently, Ms. McNulty is admitted to practice before all California state courts, The United States District Court for the Central District, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

As an attorney, Ms. McNulty is effective, professional, and compassionate. These traits can also be observed in her volunteer activities outside of the office. Ms. McNulty has served on non-profit boards, co-founded and chaired a multi-professional organization, served in many advocacy positions, lobbied, tracked legislation, conducted fund-raising, managed campaign offices, and is now active in emergency preparedness organizations. When she is not spending time with family or serving the human community, Ms. McNulty serves the animal community by assisting in animal rescues and transports.
